Other Family Visa

There are many visas included on the family stream, some of them are:  parent visas, last remaining relative, carer visa, in others.

Parent visas are divided in two, contributory  and not contributory, the mainly differences between these visas are the waiting period and visa fees (which are dramatically different).  To apply for any of these visas the applicant must meet the family test. This means the applicant must have at least half of their children living lawfully and permanently in Australia or more children living lawfully and permanently in Australia than in any other single country overseas.

Last remaining relative  visa is for people whose only near relatives are usually resident in Australia and are Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens. You have to be sponsored by an eligible relative (or your relative’s eligible partner), in Australia.

Care visa is for people who are needed to care for an Australian relative or a member of their family unit who has a medical condition. This visa requires the applicant to be sponsored by their Australian relative or their Australian relative’s partner.

Other popular  visas in this stream are  child visas there is a big range of them 4 (child, orphan relative, adoption and dependent child visas) for children overseas and 3 (child, orphan relative and dependent child visas) for children in Australia, depending of their conditions the could apply for each of them . There is also the humanitarian program – split family provisions for the immediate family members of people granted any permanent humanitarian visa (including Protection and Resolution of Status visas) in the last five years. Immediate family members declared at the time of application may be eligible for entry to Australia through the offshore Humanitarian Program.
